CLOSURE PROCEDURE

A copyright registration can be cancelled if the registrant no longer wishes to maintain the registration.

Stepps for cancellation of registration:

  1. File an application for cancellation with reason of cancellation with the Copyright Office
  2. After the cancellation application is filed, the Copyright Office will examine the request and may ask for further clarification or conduct an enquiry
  3. If the Copyright Office is satisfied with the cancellation request, it will remove the registration from its records.
